As M2E’s Health Literacy Director, Laurel Warager brings more than 30 years' teaching experience to our Health Literacy component, where she creates programs and oversees other professional educators in the areas of women’s health, nutrition, and mindfulness.
Her years of advanced mentorship include tenures as a mentor teacher for first-year professionals and as a Master Teacher for pre-service professionals from Manhattan College, Manhattanville, Mercy and SUNY programs. In addition, she is a proven curriculum writer in the areas of Social Studies, English, Language Arts, and Character Education. Currently, Laurel is a First Grade Teacher in the Irvington School District and a founding member of the district’s ENL (English as a New Language) program.
She is a recipient of the Journal News Golden Apple Award and holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood with a concentration in literacy from the College of New Rochelle. Laurel is a also a licensed Zumba® instructor.
