MUMBAY, INDIA

In February 2018, M2E traveled to India to explore programming opportunities in the Dharavi slum and with women of the Red Light District in Mumbai.

M2E Founder/CEO Toni-Michelle Rubio and M2E Volunteer Shalaine MacClaughin immersed themselves in the culture of Mumbai and Indian customs on a very personal and humbling level.  M2E was invited by local foundations and organizations to meet with local community outreach directors, artists, activists, and teachers, and we attended the largest gathering in India of Zumba® instructors.

Most importantly, M2E comes away from this research trip with a partnership with the Kranti Foundation, a rehabilitation house for women rescued from the sex trafficking trade.  We look forward to returning soon with a service team to delve into our mission of empowering women and children through fitness.
