"M2E Moves for Puerto Rico" Hurricane Relief Events

Following the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Maria in 2017, M2E reached out to the hardest hit part of Puerto Rico to help Juana Colon High School in Comerio, located in the heart of the island.

Background
Escuela Superior Juana Colon has 500 students with 26 classrooms serving grades 9-12. More than 89% of her students live under the poverty line.  In addition, the school has a comprehensive special needs program serving children ranging from the mildly autistic to the severely challenged.

All school buildings were flooded in 9 feet of water, all materials were lost and a few buildings were condemned.

Need and Response

In less than five weeks, M2E raised funds more than $80,000 in cash and donations through various fitness and community events.  We purchased and delivered 400 chairs and 125 activity tables, installed glass boards in every classroom and restored the school's amphitheater.

M2E Events in Support of Juana Colon School
